Fabio Lenzo created the Bruco chocolate line from a recipe passed down to him by his grandmother, Bruna. Bruna was a country doctor in the Marches region of eastern Italy. Fabio's grandfather, Constantino, brought his homemade chocolates to his wife's patients. Constantino's chocolates were very unique. Instead of containing vanilla extract as was (and still) is the norm for chocolate, they were infused with the oil of aniseed. In addition to picking up the spirits of Bruna's patients, this unusual chocolate created a following throughout the region due to its subtle fruitiness cooking food grandmother legacy memory oy and creamy texture.
